Events 2004/5

Pruning and coppicing the small woodland
Pruning and coppicing the small woodland

There has been quite a lot of new activity on and for the Land in 2004 and 2005. There were a number of successful Grant applications in 2004, and we received financial help from Penwith Small Grants Fund, Neighbourhood Renewal Community Chest, Southwest Foundation Small Grants and People's Places (New Opportunities Fund). This latter Grant enabled us to do many of the things we have long wanted to do on the Land, such as begin to create a Pond and Bog Garden, build disabled car parking access and pathways across the Land, and to begin work on creating a Sensory Garden based on the five senses. BTCV have been given us great help and advice with all of this. We have also obtained a tepee that can be used in the future for events of various kinds. We have also been looking after our small woodland with the help of Jan Phillips, and even been planting some new trees.

Future Events 2006

2006 will see us finishing off many of the Projects started in 2005 - creating the pond and bog garden, putting the tepee back up again, and working on the Sensory Garden. We always welcome help at these Events, which can be great fun and very companionable. Events are often organised at the last minute, due to weather conditions and Trustees' other commitments, so if you would like to come along to any events please telephone Cheryl on 01736-787186 and leave a message, or e-mail info@womenslandtrust.org.uk and we will get back to you with the latest information."
